Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb. Top Sirloin Steak (very thin sliced strips cut against the grain)
  • 1 Tsp. Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Tsp. Onion Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp. Soy Sauce
  • 68 Tbsp. Olive Oil (divided)
  • 1 Medium Onion (sliced)
  • 3 cups Broccoli Florets (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 3oz. Packages Ramen Noodles (discard seasoning packets)

Stir Fry Sauce:

  • 3/4 cups Beef Broth
  • 2 Tbsp. Garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 Tsp. Ground Ginger
  • 3 Tbsp. Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. Hoisin Sauce (optional)
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tsp. Rice Vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. Sesame Oil
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Cornstarch

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, add sliced beef, and season with pepper and onion powder. Then add soy sauce and cornstarch and mix to coat the beef, then set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix all of the stir-fry sauce ingredients together and whisk until completely blended, then set aside.
  3. Fill a pot ¾ full of water and bring to a boil.  Add ramen noodles and cook for about 3 minutes. Then drain and rinse with cool water and set aside.
  4. In a large skillet on medium heat, add 3-4 Tbsp. Olive oil.  Add onion and sauté until tender, then add in broccoli florets and sauté’ for another minute.  Add 2 Tbsp. water, cover, and let the broccoli steam for about 3 minutes. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet on medium-high heat, add 3-4 Tbsp. Olive oil, then add beef. Cook on one side for about 3 minutes, then turn the beef to brown on the other side (do not overcook, just long enough so the beef is no longer pink).
  6. Turn the heat back down to medium-low. Add the onion and broccoli back into the skillet with the beef.  Pour in the stir-fry sauce and gently mix together.  Let it simmer for about 3 to 4 minutes until the sauce thickens. Then add the cooked, drained ramen noodles and gently mix with tongs until combined.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve this delicious, better-than-take-out stir fry…you are gonna love it!
