Grandma’s Homemade Pancake Recipe: Ditch the Box!

Homemade Pancake recipe from scratch

This tried-and-true family recipe will have you saying goodbye to those artificial ingredients and hello to the most mouthwatering, fluffy pancakes you’ve ever tasted.

Ingredients

Scale

1 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour

2 Tbsp. Sugar

2 Tsp. Baking Powder

1/2 Tsp. Baking Soda

1/2 Tsp. Salt

2 Eggs

2 Tbsp. Canola Oil (for pancake batter)

2 Tbsp. Butter (melted)

1 Tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract

1 1/2 Cups Whole Milk

Canola Oil (use to grease the griddle lightly)

Serve with softened Butter, Pure Maple Syrup, and Powdered Sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.  Then add the eggs, canola oil, slightly cooled melted butter, pure vanilla extract, and whole milk.  Blend all ingredients with an electric hand mixer for about 1 minute (batter will be smooth and not too thick (a few lumps are okay….so don’t overmix it).
  2. Pour a little canola oil on the griddle and preheat the griddle to medium heat.  Pour a small amount of the batter on the hot griddle and use a spoon to spread the batter into pancake-sized rounds. Cook your pancakes until you get bubbles around the edges and a few bubbles starting in the middle, check to see if they are browned, then flip them over with a spatula and spread some butter on top of the pancake to melt while the underside cooks until browned.
  3. Sprinkle some powdered sugar on and top with 100% Pure Maple Syrup and Enjoy!
