Ingredients

Scale

WINGS:

4 lbs. Chicken Wings (uncooked)

2 Tbsp. Cornstarch + 1/4 Cup Water

2 Tbsp. Mustard

Seasoning:

2 Tbsp, Brown Sugar

1 1/2 Tsp. Salt

1 Tsp. Pepper

1 Tsp. Garlic Powder

1 Tsp. Onion Powder

1 Tsp. Smoked Paprika

1 Tsp. Ground Cumin

1 Tsp. Chili Powder

HONEY BUFFALO SAUCE:

3/4 Cup Hot Sauce (we use Frank’s Original)

5 Tbsp. Butter (divided)

1/2 Cup Honey

1 Tbsp. Brown Sugar

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the rub seasoning ingredients together until they are thoroughly combined.
  2. Coat the wings with the mustard then place them in a pre-greased crockpot. Then sprinkle the rub seasoning on the wings using your hands to massage it into the chicken on both sides.
  3. In a measuring cup, melt 2 Tablespoons of butter, then add the honey and mix them together (this will help the honey come out of the measuring cup easier). In a small mixing bowl, add the honey butter, and hot sauce and brown sugar and whisk them together thoroughly.  Pour the buffalo sauce over wings.
  4. Then place 3 Tbsp. of butter on top of the chicken. Cover and cook on HIGH for 2 hours, or on LOW for 3-4 hours (be sure that the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees).
  5. Place the chicken on a foil lined baking sheet. Then in a measuring cup make a slurry with 2 tablespoons of Cornstarch and ¼ Cup of water. Add in 1/2 cup of the chicken juice from the crockpot and mix it together. If you prefer a thicker sauce, let the liquid cool a couple of minutes to thicken, then Brush wings with sauce.
  6. Place the wings in the broiler for 4 to 5 minutes until they start to get a little crispy. Then remove and serve them with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!
